Runway Hindi Action film

Finally after waiting for 2 years film Runway is going to released. I have Special Interest in this film as I was one of the crew members. I worked as 2nd assistant director in the film. Film was shot on super 16 Camera around Daman and Diu Island near Gujarat. Film story is about a local young man (Amar jeet) and girl who fall in love with each other.
The girl (Deepal Shaw) who is been a lonely girl is addicted to the drugs. On a very important day when Amar jeet (name of the actor whose father produced it under the banner of J-71 production), was waiting for her to get married, gets the news that because of over drugs she is in hospital.
Now the hero need money to save his love for that he goes on a mission given to him by a local gangster ( Shard Sexsena) remember the villain from film Gulam (he was one of nice guy on the set) staring Amir khan. Ofcourse the hero doesn’t know about the detiles of the mission but soon he finds himself in trouble as he come to know that he has to kill someone. Meanwhile the local gangster hires Lucky ali to finish Amarjeet as soon as Amarjeet completes his mission.
What will happen in the end you must go and watch the film. Working in this film was a great experience. I had learned so many things the best part was the Gorilla film making.
Director team included Ravi (chief assistant director) and me (Abhishek Bhardwaj) as 2nd Assistant director. Praful Tiwari was actually supposed to be the writer of the film but I am surprised to see his name coming as directed by. Whatever may be his elder brother Mr. Sunil Tiwari (really a nice guy on the set and otherwise too) wants to launch his brother career through this.
We really had trouble to shot on damn Diu as predicting the sea here is a touch job. When in the morning we decide to shot a beach scene we found the sea has gone far. So we all were chasing the sea. As soon as we decide to put the camera the sea will run far so we were going after it. But soon everybody realized that we are almost two kilometers from the real beach. Someone informed us that high tied will come and cover all this area. Then we all had rush back to the normal position anyway the effort to save the unit time was successful as the choreographer had taken few shots of Amarjeet riding on horse.
There are the wonderful memories left with the film Runway. I will always be thankful to Sunil Tiwari (director of the film Runway starring Amarjeet, Lucky Ali) and Ravi Sir who was a great help during the shot, and to everyone who tolerate my mistakes on the set)

Delhi -6 -‘We will mange in post’

We will manage in Post seems to be the Mantra for the Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra, at least it’s been proved by watching his Delhi -6 where a lots of VFX work has been performed. And it’s wonderful to watch how beautifully it has been done. So now no sin in calming the lines “we will mange in post”

Recently released film Delhi -6 was well acclaimed by critiques and among the audience as well. Sitting in the Theatre and getting amused by the scenes of old Delhi and watching the lovely film couple Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor in Tajmahal one would never have imagined the challenges it produced for the post production.
Here are the some of the popular sequences of the film where the shoot has been well managed in post after they have been shot in studios.

Terrace Scene

Remember the terrace shots of Delhi in the film. All of them were shot in the pink city Jaipur sets. Now the challenge was to build up a terrace as if someone is in Delhi, for this building the geo landmarks of the area like Jamma Masjid, Redfort, and Hindu temple were necessary with their respective geographical positions.

To create this magic Craig Mumma

formally worked for Krrish and Koi Mil Gaya in Hindi films and as well for the films like swordfish and spy kids suggested creating a 360 degree Delhi geos environment in 3D with the Delhi Terrace Photographs. Then the originally Shots were taken by tracking and geos were placed in their respective positions.

The Cow birth shot, and brooklyn bridge, Delhi Ram Lila and Ambulance scene of the film was entirely shot in green matte. It required 3D tracking, similar static background plates, stitching the BG in 3D and composting

RED Camera The Real Independence

By now I am sure that most of you have heard of the new RED camera. It’s an ultra high definition camera produces amazingly high definition quality content with its available options like 2k and 4k and these guys are not just stopping themselves here; they recently planning to launch a 23K.
Red Digital Cinema Camera Company, funded by Oakley sunglasses founder Jim Jannard. This has given lots of opportunity to the independent film makers in USA, London, and even in east Asia- like Singapore to shoot high definition content and save money.
But in India Independent producers are still awaiting for the camera, A Red camera with a 2k resolution is available around in 150000 INR outside of India, but still not available in India. Documentaries which are now accepted by Discovery and National geographic television are only shot with High definition camera. As independent Producer I found it expensive on my pocket.
A Red Camera is fine with a resolution of 4k it allows you to shoot images with the shallow depth of field for which 35mm cameras are known. Saving lots of cost of Raw Stock however there is been a lot of speculation about losing the resolution when you go to post but the kind of work I have seen doesn’t prove this. Many says if you save money on raw stock you will end up spending money in the post even that is not true it will cost you the same as in the case of a film but you won’t be ending up spending more money
And a Red Camera with 2K resolution is great for the content producers aiming towards the Television one can use the film lens to shot the content the camera body has dimensions of 12.02″ long x 6.34″ tall x 5.2″ wide and weighs in around 10 lbs. That makes it light and portable enough for almost all your film making needs.

Cinema and you

Hi I am Abhishek Bhardwaj - Well, i will share the information i have earned during working for the films, production houses in India.

In India there is only one institute which is called- 'National institute of Film and Technology Pune' with only 20 seats available its very hard for the cinema lover to get an admission into this institutes, and unlike western country our university doesn't offer any courses related with film making for an example MA in film making.

Yes there are courses but that have been attached with course like Journalism, now that is very absurd to do a journalism course only because your want to direct or produce a film.

Government and university of India filed to recognize that Film Making is completely different stuff and required different energy, enthusiasm and certainly creative freedom. In the journalism first thing is to compromise, look where the TRP is and then find or create a news or create a show according to the what your creative head suggests

Then there are Many private institution who claims to teach you the film making but fee structure is very high and sometimes its very hard for the cinema lover and people at large to afford their fees.

There is no single guidelines which can take a cinema lover to try his or her hand into the film making, or turn his or her dream into reality. I will share the information i have earned form by working for years in this field.
